Triangle J Area Agency on Aging
Mandated by the federal Older Americans Act of 1965, as amended, the Triangle J Area Agency on Aging (TJAAA) focuses on its partnership efforts as a means of leveraging a quality continuum of support for the region's older adults. Our mission is to promote the highest level of well-being of older adults in the seven-county region by partnering with organizations to provide a comprehensive system of opportunities, services and protective supports.
The scope of the program is broad and flexible to maintain and expand the quality of life for our seniors. We provide assistance for seniors who:
- reside in a long-term care facility
- need assistance to remain in their own homes
- desire the benefits offered by a certified multipurpose senior center
- seek employment and training
- need information
In addition, we are a resource center offering assistance or training support for their family caregiver or other family members.
The TJAAA is guided by a four-year Regional Area Plan on Aging, and supported by the Region J Advisory Council on Aging. TJAAA programs include:
- Planning & Administration
- Regional Long Term Care Ombudsman Program
- Family Caregiver Support Program
- Full Circle of Care Website
- Senior Employment and Training
