Triangle J Council of Governments and the Triangle J Area Agency of Aging are proud to announce Carmelita Karhoff, a Regional Long-Term Care Ombudsman, has been selected to receive the Howard Hinds Memorial Award presented by the National Consumer Voice for Quality Long-Term Care. The award honors an individual who has effectively advocated for long-term care consumers at the local level.
Carmelita has been a true champion of residents in the Triangle J region and is incredibly passionate about spreading awareness on issues that affect those in long-term care programs. Most recently, she has become involved in the Dementia Inclusive Durham program, which aims to create meaningful and supportive environments for individuals with dementia in the region. The Consumer Voice could not have chosen a better individual to honor.
