Pam joined Triangle J in February 2017. After taking care of her mother and experiencing the long-term care system firsthand, she was appointed to the Wake County Community Advisory Committee and served as chair. In 2015, she was appointed to the NC Governor’s Advisory Council on Aging and the NC Penalty Review Committee. More recently, she joined the NC Partnership to Address Adult Abuse and Friends of Residents in Long Term Care.

Accept/investigate citizen complaints about long term care facilities.
Act as a mediator when residents have difficulty exercising their rights.
Provide training and technical assistance to county appointed community advisory committee members.
Educate people about their rights and the rules and regulations governing long term care facilities.
Provide training to long term care facility staff.
Act as a liaison between community, citizen, and long term care facilities.
Collect complaint data; report regularly to the office of State Ombudsman.
Monitor legislation and regulations.
