TJCOG is hosting a meeting of the City of Raleigh Public Utilities Department's Watershed Protection Program Review Board. The voluntary program supports funding of land conservation project which help protect water quality and quantity in the City's drinking water supply watersheds. Projects are funded through Raleigh's watershed protection fee, paid by water utility customers, often in partnership with other funding programs. The Conservation Trust for North Carolina helps coordinate the program with partners from across the watershed, including local land trusts and other local government. The nine-member review board brings together a diversity of members from the public and private sector as well as state and local agencies. Board recommendations go forward to the Raleigh City Council for final approval.
