Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy
The Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) is a regional strategy to coordinate economic development efforts across the seven-county TJCOG region. A CEDS document is required by the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) to maintain the region's status as an Economic Development District (EDD), and must be updated at least once every five years to qualify for EDA assistance. By coordinating and prioritizing goals and objectives, the CEDS helps regional stakeholders take a more targeted approach to economic development by creating partnerships and leveraging local, state, regional, and federal resources.
2021-2026 CEDS Draft:
TJCOG is in the process of creating the 2021-2026 CEDS. Throughout its development, an inclusive and equitable engagement process will be undertaken; that includes input form a diverse list of stakeholders and members of the public. The CEDS includes the following components with a focus on Economic Resiliency: a summary of the region's current economic conditions, a SOAR approach (Strengths, Opportunities, Aspirations, and Results), an action plan for implementation, and an evaluation framework that includes performances measures.
Public Input Opportunities:
Please take the time to complete the CEDS Public Input Survey by clicking the link below. Completion time is approximately ten minutes and responses will be influential in the development of the goals, objectives, and action plan in the CEDS. The survey will close at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 1, 2020.

In addition, please check back for other opportunities to provide input between March and September 2020.
In the coming year, the Community & Economic Development program at TJCOG will focus on three main workstreams - housing, resiliency, and workforce development, in addition to supporting a CEDS strategy refinement and providing technical assistance to our member governments.
