Natural Resources & Resilience

Resilient communities are defined by their ability to bounce back from acute disasters or long-term stressors by actively influencing and preparing for economic, social and environmental change. However, every community is only as resilient as its neighbors. With this belief in mind, TJCOG is building a sustainable and resilient region through a combination of relationship-building, resource prioritization, and projects that improve the efficiency and sustainability of community design and services.

Projects & Reports

As a top priority for our local government members and our region, TJCOG is leading the effort to make our region more resilient to changing weather patterns, economic shifts, and increasing populations. TJCOG is working to advance regional resiliency through the following projects:

  • Triangle Regional Resilience Partnership (TRRP) and TRRP Assessment (2018)
  • Disaster Recovery and Resiliency for Hurricanes Matthew and Florence
