NC Next Generation Networks

NC Next Generation Networks LogoNC Next Generation Networks (NC NGN, pronounced “NC Engine”) is a cooperative effort of universities, their host communities and other partners to speed the deployment of ultra high speed broadband services for businesses, institutions and consumers.  Focused on the Research Triangle Region of North Carolina but with participants in other portions of North Carolina’s Piedmont Crescent Corridor, the collaboration is designed to:

  • Enable the cooperating sponsors to leverage existing assets to speed additional deployments;
  • Demonstrate the demand for Next Generation Network usage in key locations; and
  • Jointly issue a Request For Proposals (RFP) for cooperative investments in additional deployment and management of Next Generation Network assets.
