2021-2022 Recommended Budget Released

Over the past year, our region has weathered a global pandemic and a lot of uncertainty. It is inspiring to see the ways our member governments have adapted to provide services to their residents. I am so proud of the ways TJCOG staff has continued to meet our mission and the needs of our local government members and partners. Amidst COVID-19, TJCOG's staff have found additional ways to serve the region and added two local governments to our membership.

The newly released Fiscal Year 2021-2022 Recommended Budget reflects TJCOG's financial stability and outlines the organization’s restructured priority areas. The seven priority areas detailed in the recommended budget match the needs of our member governments and the budget charts a course for TJCOG to help local governments address shared opportunities.  Read the full recommended budget

Budget Timeline and Public Hearing

On April 15th, 2021, the TJCOG Board of Delegates, member governments, and TJCOG staff will receive the recommended budget directly. The Board of Delegates will receive a presentation of the recommended budget, conduct the required public hearing, and hold initial discussions during their April 28th meeting. The Board meeting and budget presentation will livestream here.

Individuals who have comments about the budget may email them to tjcog@tjcog.org anytime between April 15th and 24 hours after the public hearing on April 28, 2021, in accordance with North Carolina State Statutes. 

The TJCOG Officers will meet in early May to discuss the budget in more detail and reflect on input. On May 26, 2021, the Board of Delegates will consider adoption of the Budget Resolution.
